About Sue...
In addition to raising four children and running a busy household, Sue Raatjes taught English at a large public high school in Peoria, Arizona. There she led a team that established the Future Teachers Academy, a program to train high school students in the field of education.
Sue taught Bible studies and Sunday School classes for ages preschool through adults, and chaired the Christian Education Committee at a large church for many years. Currently, she serves as a member of a Foster Care Review Board and volunteers at a Christian transitional housing center. Sue has participated in the Arizona Storytellers Project sponsored by the Arizona Republic and USA Today.
She attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan, where she met her husband, Bob, and she graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education. Sue and Bob moved to Phoenix many years ago. They both enjoy a relaxed retirement, though Sue keeps busy with her writing, volunteering, and storytelling events.
